Pretest and Post-test
We've included pretests and post-tests for each theme of each level. There are two different versions from which you can choose. While these are not necessary for instruction, they can be used by schools that require pre- and post-testing in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the curriculum, and student progress.
Whole Group Oral Testing — This test should be administered to an entire class orally. The teacher does not hand the test out individually, but rather reads each question aloud, and asks students to raise either 1 or 2 fingers to answer the question. The teacher then circles whether most, some, few, or none of the students answered the question correctly. This version of the test is primarily designed for younger grades in which students are not yet reading proficiently.
Individual Written Test — This test should be administered to each student individually. Students should circle the answer to each question. The teacher should then collect all the tests and review the answers.
